On Linux FreeWRL is a good choice.
For Mac OS X and Windows Cortona is a simple solution.

You can check to see if you already have one installed.

Another solution that is in beta testing, is the open source Xj3D Browser (downloads for Linux,Mac and Windows) .
This is a totally java solution requiring, at a minimum, java 1.4.1.
